Houston, TX preferred — leading and unifying operations across a national, multi-branch luxury technology platform.
Our client is hiring a Vice President of Operations to lead and unify operations across a national, multi-branch platform. This is not a maintenance role managing a well-oiled machine. This is the opportunity to build the operating model, set the standard, and lead the field organization for a scaling national brand that's still defining what operational excellence looks like at scale.
This role is for a battle-tested, multi-site operations leader who thrives in complexity, builds systems where none exist, and is energized by the challenge of creating a cohesive national operation out of 15+ independent companies.
Nation's leading luxury residential technology integrator — PE-backed, scaling toward $100M+ in revenue.
Branches across the US — unifying what started as 15+ independent companies into one cohesive national brand.
A career-defining role to write the playbook — with direct CEO access, real authority, and a clear path to Chief Operating Officer.

Our client is the nation's leading Home Experience Designer — the only scaled, national luxury residential technology integrator in the United States. They partner with ultra-high-net-worth homeowners, elite architects, custom builders, and interior designers to create seamless smart home experiences: lighting and shade control, whole-home audio/video, climate automation, security, networking, and integrated systems that make every day effortless, beautiful, and connected.
Headquartered in Austin, Texas, they operate as one unified company — not a franchise — across 15+ branches serving the US. They're PE-backed, scaling toward $100M+ in revenue, and in the middle of an ambitious transformation: unifying what started as 15+ independent companies into one cohesive national platform. The branches exist. The revenue is flowing. What's been missing is the unified operating model and leadership infrastructure to power the next phase of growth.
That's where you come in.
Our client is at an inflection point — consolidating 15+ independently acquired companies into a single national operating platform. Consistent standards, unified systems, and a scalable model are being built right now. The person who builds them will define how this brand operates for years to come.
A client roster of ultra-high-net-worth homeowners and elite builders across the country. The operating model being built here will touch every one of those relationships — and determine whether they become a truly national brand or remain a collection of local businesses.
You will serve as the senior operations leader, reporting directly to the CEO. You'll own the formulation and execution of the national operating strategy — setting vision and operating plans with the leadership team, then leading the field organization in delivering consistent, high-performing results against those plans.
You'll directly oversee General Managers and the field operations team, driving standards for sales support, service delivery, and project execution across every location. This is the full operating mandate — strategy to execution, field to boardroom.
Lead and unify operations across all locations. Drive consistent standards for service delivery and project execution nationwide.
Build the processes, systems, and standards that improve consistency, quality, and margin across every branch.
Directly develop General Managers and field leadership. Build the recruiting, onboarding, and development programs that create bench strength.
Implement the management cadence, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting rhythm that improve forecasting, transparency, and results.
This role demands a battle-tested multi-site operations leader who has scaled a field-driven, project-based business before. You need 15+ years of senior operations leadership, including 8+ years leading multi-site organizations and significant P&L responsibility — ideally in technology integration, construction, home services, or similar project-driven industries.
You must have a proven track record of building leaders (not just managing individual contributors), integrating acquisitions, and driving consistent performance across disparate locations. Most importantly, you need to be a builder — someone who thrives on creating operating models, not just maintaining them.
15+ years of senior operations leadership, including 8+ years leading multi-site organizations with 10+ locations and full P&L responsibility.
Experience in technology integration, construction, home services, or similar field-based, project-driven businesses is required.
Proven track record of creating operating models, integrating acquisitions, and standardizing processes across disparate locations.
Demonstrated ability to build and develop senior leaders — General Managers, Regional Directors — not just manage individual contributors.
The smart home industry is the next essential trade in luxury residential construction. Integrated lighting, automated shades, whole-home audio/video, networking, and climate control are no longer optional upgrades — they are baseline expectations in high-end new construction. A national platform that can deliver them consistently, at scale, will define this category.
Our client has the market position, the client relationships, and the revenue to win this space — but the operating model to sustain it has not yet been built. The company is at an inflection point: the infrastructure exists, the growth is real, and the window to define the standard is wide open.
The executive who steps into this role doesn't inherit a playbook. They write it — with direct access to the CEO, real authority to build the structure and systems they know are needed, and the satisfaction of seeing their operating model power growth across the entire company. That's the opening. That's your lane.
Houston, TX is the preferred home base — where the corporate team is based. But we're open to exceptional candidates elsewhere. What's non-negotiable is your commitment to being present in the field.
This is not a remote office role. This is being the operating architect of a national brand — constantly visible across locations, building relationships with General Managers, understanding local operations, and ensuring your strategies translate effectively on the ground. Significant travel (50%+) is required and expected.
Houston, TX preferred — where the senior leadership and corporate functions are based. Strong preference for local presence.
15+ locations across the US. Regular field visits to build GM relationships, audit performance, and coach leaders on the ground.
50%+ travel nationwide. You need to be where the work happens — not managing from a distance.
Partnering at the leadership level with the CEO, VP of Finance, VP of Sales, and VP of People to shape company strategy.
Success in this role will be defined by three clear priorities. This isn't a maintenance role with a polished playbook — it's an opportunity to shape how a national brand operates, from the ground up.
Lead the development and rollout of processes, systems, and standards that improve consistency, quality, and margin across all locations. Define the right organizational structure — centralized, decentralized, regional, or hybrid — function by function. Create clarity around roles like project management, scheduling, warehousing, and QA at the branch level. You're not inheriting a playbook. You're writing it.
Directly develop the General Managers and field leadership team. Build the recruiting, onboarding, training, and development programs that create bench strength and leadership pipeline. Decide who stays, who grows, and where gaps need to be filled. This requires the ability to build leaders, not just manage them.
Implement the management cadence, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting rhythm that improve forecasting, transparency, and results. Ensure every location is hitting quality, margin, and revenue targets — and you catch problems early, not after the fact.
You don't just solve today's problems — you build the systems that prevent tomorrow's. You see a fragmented, inconsistent operation and think, "I can architect this." You thrive on creating operating models, standardizing processes, and building infrastructure that allows a company to scale.
You're managing General Managers and senior leaders across the country. You know how to set clear expectations, inspect what you expect, and hold people accountable — while building trust, coaching performance, and developing your leadership bench.
You understand that operations isn't just about execution — it's about driving profitable growth. You know how to read a P&L, understand margin levers, and make decisions that balance quality, speed, and profitability. You've owned revenue and profit targets and delivered them consistently.
You live in the numbers. You build dashboards, track KPIs, and use data to diagnose problems and drive decisions. You know how to translate raw data into actionable insights for your team and the CEO.
You've led a distributed field organization — through organic growth, acquisitions, or greenfield expansion. You understand the unique challenges: balancing standardization with local market needs, building culture across distance, and ensuring consistent performance when you can't be everywhere at once.
This isn't a stable, predictable environment. Priorities shift. The company is growing. You're building the plane while flying it. You thrive in that environment — energized by the challenge of creating order from complexity and building something that will last.
As Vice President of Operations, you will serve as the senior operations leader and report directly to the CEO. You'll own the national operating strategy and lead the field organization — General Managers, operations support, and the entire project delivery and service network — in delivering consistent, high-performing results across every location.
This role requires deep operational expertise, the ability to lead and develop senior leaders, and the strategic vision to build an operating model that can support aggressive growth while maintaining the quality and client experience that defines the brand.
Design, implement, and scale the national operating framework
Develop GMs, set standards, drive accountability across all locations
Hit quality, margin, and revenue targets — and catch problems early
Every phase of this mandate demands presence, precision, and a genuine commitment to building an organization that performs consistently — from the first branch visit to the final operating review.
Lead and unify operations across all locations nationwide. Drive consistent standards for sales support, service delivery, and project execution. Create, execute, and adjust long-term, annual, and monthly operating plans. Deliver key results: revenue, gross margin, profit, project timeliness, service turnaround, and quality.
Directly oversee and develop the field team — General Managers, operations support, and frontline leadership. Structure the organization for scale: decide the right model function by function. Partner with People to build recruiting, onboarding, development, and training programs that grow leadership bench strength.
Lead the development and rollout of processes and systems that improve consistency, quality, speed, and margin. Develop support functions for the field — procurement, fleet, licensure, facilities, safety, training — and ensure functional clarity within each market: project management, scheduling, warehousing, and QA.
Add new locations effectively through greenfield expansion or acquisition. Own operational due diligence for acquisitions. Lead the on-the-ground integration of newly acquired companies into the operating model, culture, and systems.
Hold General Managers and the field organization accountable to financial, quality, and operational targets. Implement the management cadence, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting rhythm that improve forecasting, predictability, and transparency. Make tough calls when performance doesn't meet standards.
We're looking for a seasoned operations executive with a demonstrated track record of scaling field-driven, project-based businesses across multiple sites. The ideal candidate brings both the systems thinking to architect an operating model and the leadership depth to develop a senior team across a national footprint.
Senior operations leadership in technology integration, construction, home services, or similar project-driven, field-based industries. 8+ years leading multi-site organizations (10+ locations preferred).
10+ years with full P&L responsibility including revenue ownership. Proven track record of hitting and improving quality, financial, and growth targets over multiple years.
5+ years as a third-level manager or higher (managing managers of managers). Experience building and leading General Managers, Regional Directors, or equivalent senior leaders.
Demonstrated experience scaling operations including acquisition integration and/or greenfield expansion. Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
Deep expertise leading distributed field organizations with 10+ locations across diverse markets and geographies.
Strong understanding of revenue drivers, margin levers, and profitability management in project-based businesses.
Proven ability to design, implement, and scale operating models, SOPs, and support functions across a field organization.
Deeply analytical; comfortable building KPIs, dashboards, and using data to drive performance. Strong working knowledge of ERP, project management, and reporting tools.
Demonstrated ability to hire, coach, and develop senior leaders; build leadership pipeline and bench strength across a national footprint.
Commensurate with experience and track record at the VP level. 30% performance bonus.
Direct path to Chief Operating Officer as the company scales and the leadership structure formalizes further.
If you're an operator who thinks in systems, builds leaders, and knows how to scale a business without losing what makes it special — we'd love to meet you.
This is more than a job. It's a career-defining opportunity to shape how a national brand operates. You won't be inheriting a polished playbook. You'll be writing it. Apply today and help build the next chapter of growth.
