Houston, TX preferred — the executive finance role that will architect the next chapter of a national luxury brand.
Our client is hiring a Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy and build the financial infrastructure of a national luxury residential technology company. This is not a role where you maintain someone else's systems — it's an opportunity to architect the finance function, lead the board conversation, and build the financial discipline that powers a fast-scaling, PE-backed platform.
This role is for a strategic CFO ready to partner with the CEO and board to drive enterprise value creation. You might be a high-performing VP of Finance ready for your first CFO seat, or a CFO from a $50M–$75M company looking to grow with a scaling platform toward $100M+ and beyond.
Nation's leading luxury residential technology integrator — PE-backed, 12+ branches, 40+ states, building toward $100M+.
Lead financial strategy, accounting, FP&A, treasury, capital management, and board/lender relationships. Own the finance organization.
A seat at the executive table as the financial architect behind growth and M&A — with meaningful long-term incentive upside.

Our client is the nation's leading luxury residential technology integrator — the only scaled, national platform of its kind in the United States. They design and install integrated systems — lighting, shades, audio/video, networking, automation, and security — for some of the most spectacular homes in the country. They partner with ultra-high-net-worth homeowners, elite architects, custom builders, and interior designers.
Headquartered in Austin, Texas, they operate as one unified company across 12+ branches serving 40+ states. They're in the middle of a major transformation: unifying what started as 15+ independent companies into one cohesive national platform, with a clear mandate to build toward $100M in revenue and beyond. PE-backed and scaling fast — what's been missing is the CFO-level financial leadership to navigate the next phase of growth and professionalize the finance function.
This is a high-complexity, multi-entity business with branch-level P&Ls, project-based revenue, inventory across locations, and the reporting demands of a PE-backed portfolio company. The financial foundation is being actively built — and you're the one who builds it.
The finance leader who shows up with strategic vision, PE sophistication, and a builder's mindset doesn't just fill a seat — they become the financial architect who engineers enterprise value and drives the company's growth trajectory.
You will serve as the Chief Financial Officer, reporting directly to the CEO and partnering closely with the ownership group and board. You'll lead financial strategy, oversee the entire finance organization (including the Controller and accounting team), and serve as the primary financial voice at the leadership table.
This is not a "run what exists" role. You are building the financial infrastructure of a national brand — from strategy to systems to the team that executes it all.
Set the financial vision, capital structure, and long-range planning as the company continues to scale nationally. Partner with the CEO and board on major strategic decisions.
Oversee accounting, FP&A, and treasury. Mentor and develop the Controller and their team. Build a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement.
Serve as the primary financial partner to the CEO, board, and ownership group, delivering the reporting and insight they need to make confident decisions.
Maintain a rolling weekly cash flow, quarterly, annual, and multi-year budget, P&L, and cash flow forecasting model that gives leadership a clear, current view of where the business is headed.
This role demands a strategic finance leader with experience in multi-location, multi-entity businesses who is ready to step into or grow within the CFO seat. You might be a high-performing VP of Finance ready for your first CFO role, or a CFO from a $50M–$75M company looking to scale with a growing platform.
You need 10–15+ years of progressive finance leadership, including experience as a Controller, VP of Finance, or CFO. PE-backed company experience is highly preferred. You need to understand board dynamics, lender relationships, and how to build financial infrastructure that drives enterprise value. MBA or CPA is strongly preferred. Most importantly, you need to be a strategic builder who thrives on bringing order to complexity and scaling businesses.
CFO experience preferred, or VP Finance ready to step up. Deep understanding of PE dynamics and board partnership.
Prior experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Controller, or similar senior role. Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting required; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
Multi-entity, multi-location business experience required. PE-backed company experience highly preferred. Familiarity with lender relationships and covenant compliance.
You see broken financial processes and think "I can fix this." You build systems, implement controls, and create the infrastructure that scales.
This is not a role where you maintain someone else's systems or optimize at the margins. The company is at a genuine inflection point — transforming from a collection of independent businesses into one cohesive national platform. The financial infrastructure to support that transformation doesn't fully exist yet. You get to build it.
You'll have direct partnership with the CEO and board, real autonomy to build your team and processes, and the satisfaction of seeing your work directly shape enterprise value. Every forecast you build, every control you implement, every board presentation you deliver will matter — it will drive decisions at the highest level of the company.
You're joining during a transformational period with significant wealth-creation potential tied to the company's growth trajectory. For the right leader, this is the opportunity to grow into the CFO role (or expand your CFO experience), build something significant, and share meaningfully in the value you create through long-term incentive participation. You won't just have a seat at the table — you'll help set the table.
If you're ready to make a significant impact and shape the financial future of a growing national brand, explore this exceptional opportunity now.
Houston, TX is preferred — where the corporate team is headquartered and where you'll have the most direct access to the CEO and leadership team. We're open to exceptional candidates in other locations who can commit to regular travel to both branch locations and headquarters.
This is a hybrid role with genuine flexibility, but it requires real presence and engagement with the board, ownership group, and branch network. You can't lead financial transformation from behind a screen — you need to be accessible, visible, and connected to the operations that generate the numbers.
Regular presence with the CEO and executive team in Houston, where strategy is shaped and major decisions are made.
Direct partnership with private equity ownership, board members, and lenders as the senior financial voice of the company.
Travel to branch locations across the US to build relationships, understand operations, and drive financial discipline at the local level.
Close collaboration with Operations, Technology, and General Managers across the branch network to align finance with how the business actually runs.
Success in this role will be defined by three clear priorities. This isn't a polished playbook handed to a caretaker — it's a mandate to a builder. The financial foundation you lay in the first 12–18 months will define what this company can become.
Lead the effort to reconcile inventory, AR, and system-of-record data so financial reporting can be trusted by the CEO, board, and lenders. Put controls in place so problems don't recur. Establish a disciplined, audit-ready close process across all branches that consolidates into financials you can stand behind.
Create and maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast and a robust quarterly, annual, and multi-year budget and P&L model that gives the board and ownership a clear, current view of where the business is headed. Your models need to be the foundation for every major capital decision and the roadmap for aggressive growth.
Partner with the CEO and board to build the financial systems, controls, and reporting capabilities that will support the company as it scales toward $100M and beyond. This includes optimizing working capital, strengthening EBITDA quality, and ensuring the company has the financial discipline and infrastructure to support ambitious growth.
You've been a CFO or are a VP of Finance ready for the step up. You understand board dynamics, lender relationships, covenant management, and how to drive enterprise value. You're not intimidated by complexity — you're energized by it.
You see broken systems and think, "I can build this." You thrive on creating the financial infrastructure that transforms a collection of businesses into a scalable platform.
You present confidently to boards and ownership groups. You translate complex financial information into clear, strategic insights. You have the judgment to be a trusted partner at the highest level.
You understand that CFO leadership in a field-driven, project-based business is fundamentally different from a corporate role. You've lived in branch-level P&Ls, job costing, inventory reconciliation, and cash management.
You're ready to grow with a scaling platform. If you're stepping into your first CFO role, you're hungry to prove yourself. If you're already a CFO, you're looking for a bigger platform and meaningful long-term incentive upside.
You hire, develop, and mentor high-performing finance teams. You'll select and develop your own Controller and build the team that executes your vision. You create cultures of accountability and excellence.
As Chief Financial Officer, you will serve as the senior finance leader and report directly to the CEO. You'll lead financial strategy for the company, oversee the entire finance organization, and serve as the primary financial partner to the board and ownership group.
This role requires strategic acumen, the ability to lead and build a finance team, the operational fluency to understand a complex, multi-location business, and the vision to build a finance function that can support aggressive growth — not just manage the business as it exists today, but architect the business this company is becoming.
Reconcile, close, and report with integrity
Partner with the CEO and board on capital strategy and growth
Create the systems and infrastructure that power aggressive growth
Every major financial decision this company makes will flow through you. That's not a burden — it's the opportunity of a career for the right leader.

Evaluate and upgrade financial systems, processes, and controls (ERP, reporting tools, legal/compliance frameworks) to support aggressive growth and M&A activity.
We're looking for a strategic finance leader with a demonstrated track record in multi-location, multi-entity, and ideally PE-backed environments. The ideal candidate brings both the strategic sophistication to partner with boards and ownership groups and the operational fluency to understand field-driven, project-based business models.
Prior experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Controller, or similar senior role. Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting required; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
PE-backed or portfolio-company experience highly preferred. Familiarity with lender relationships, covenant compliance, and board reporting.

Experience managing lender relationships, covenant compliance, and capital structures. M&A and integration experience a plus.
